Lauren Samuel, a registered dietitian nutritionist in the Bluffton area, didn’t expect to start her own business, but knew she wanted to do one-on-one counseling. “I got my first job at WIC and I still work there part time,” she explains. However, it was clear to her: “If I want to do my dream job as a dietitian, I’m going to have to start my own business.

That company is Embrace Mind & Body Wellness LLC, which she established in 2020. In addition to providing general nutritional advice, Samuel helps clients adopt more intuitive eating practices and shows women how to manage symptoms of ovarian syndrome. polycystic (PCOS) through diet.

These services are provided online, not in an office, making it easier for clients to integrate counseling into their routine. The services include:

  • Weekly Virtual Nutrition Tips
  • Email or message support between sessions
  • Workbooks for certain types of advice

Counseling periods range from six weeks to six months or more, depending on the goals. Samuel’s approach to nutrition is weight neutral, as evidenced by the Health At Every Size (HAES) philosophy. “You don’t have to lose weight to be healthy. What I try to do instead of focusing on losing weight or losing weight as an end goal is to try to focus on your eating habits and create a healthy relationship with food, ”explains- she does.

To learn more about the services offered, Samuel schedules “discovery calls” with potential clients. “They can get a feel for my approach, their concerns and how I can help them. “

Samuel graduated from Bluffton University in Nutrition and Dietetics in 2017. She is also a Certified Intuitive Eating Consultant. Intuitive eating emphasizes physical and emotional awareness and well-being rather than restricting food or calories.
